America

Our own time with humanity on the more and in continual search, demands a resurgence of the churchs missionary activity(RM.30). In response to this divine call and to fulfill Christ mission to proclaim the message of salvation we the C.M.C sisters have undertaken this Mission. Since this country is becoming more and more non-catholic it really needs missionaries to bring them back to the faith.

The vision of our Founder Fathers- My children, the joy and glory that you bring to our Lord, by making one soul love Him for at least one day or let it be even for a single moment, it would indeed be far greater than all the other joys and praises that you give him motivates us to go even beyond the continent to be the lamp of love and faith.

As we glance over the past decades of our U.S.A. mission, we see her life and apostolate is a long story of gradual growth, in spite of tremendous struggles and problems, under the shadow of the providence of God and his timely intervention. It was an experience of relentless effort and perseverance to be settled down in a country of altogether different culture and life-situations, while trying to safeguard the identity of CMC intact. It is the history of the diverse experiences of the courageous CMC sisters who had bravely left behind their own dear ones, home and country and set off to find pasture in a foreign land. The humble beginning in April 1975 has blossomed and flourished today, with 8 houses and 33 members, in General and Provincial levels. When we look into the annals of CMC in USA, our hearts are overwhelmed with gratitude at the abundance of  blessings of Gods mercy and love upon each one of us. The initiative to start this mission came from the bishops of this area; Msgr. Compagna (a friend of Indian Papal delegate of that time)who  invited our  sisters to work in the Boys town of Indiana and Rev. Mother Silvia sent four sisters to that place).

Carmelite Sisters

As St. Teresa of Avila says, We have to be daughters of the church, through the missionary and pastoral activities of our sisters in union with the Syro-Malabar diocese of Chicago, we make this as a mission though we are trying to do the same without being named as a mission.

Sisters are in charge of catechism ( 700 Students) in St. Thomas Cathedral Church in the  Syro-Malabar diocese. We coordinate Mission League, prepare non Christians for Sacraments, help with Bible camps in different parishes in different States. Sisters also help with Communion ministry in their parishes, prepare kids and adults for Holy Communion and Confirmation, prepare students to become altar servers, visiting the sick are some of our many ministries. The sisters who work in the hospitals witness to the love and compassion of our Lord through their healing ministry and they help the dying to die peacefully. Our first and foremost ministry is to witness the Catholic faith wherever we are.
